Colorado FIRST supports students, teams, mentors, volunteers, educators, and communities across the state through high-quality FIRST robotics programs and statewide resources.
Our goal is to expand access to meaningful STEM experiences while helping students build confidence, technical skills, leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

MISSION

Colorado FIRST was founded in 2001 to represent and advance the mission of FIRST throughout Colorado.
FIRST was founded in 1989 to inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology through accessible, innovative robotics programs.
Colorado FIRST supports that mission by helping deliver robotics programs, managing events, supporting teams, developing mentors and volunteers, and building connections throughout Colorado.
Colorado's economy depends heavily on technology, engineering, aerospace, energy, advanced manufacturing, science, and entrepreneurial industries.
FIRST programs provide students with an opportunity to build the technical and professional skills these industries need while they are still in school.
Colorado FIRST helps connect those student experiences with mentors, educators, companies, volunteers, and communities throughout the state.
Statewide support means more than hosting competitions. Colorado FIRST works throughout the year to help programs grow and remain sustainable.
Support tournaments, competitions, festivals, workshops, and statewide events for Colorado teams.
Help teams access information, resources, grants, connections, and assistance throughout their season.
Provide training, networking, resources, and community connections for coaches and mentors.
Recruit, train, and support the volunteers who make Colorado FIRST events possible.
Help schools, organizations, educators, and communities establish new FIRST programs.
Connect businesses, universities, sponsors, educators, and community organizations with students and teams.

To inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
